CHARITY CHORDS

At Charity Chords, we believe in the power of music to inspire positive change, and we’re committed to making a meaningful difference in the communities we serve. Join us in this musical journey towards a better, more harmonious world

Mission

Our mission is to cultivate a platform where musicians of all backgrounds can find their voice and purpose. At Charity Chords, we aim to empower communities through music, and we strive to amplify the visibility of artists, especially young artists or those of equity deserving groups. By fostering a diverse community of artists and organizing vibrant events and programs to spotlight local musicians for meaningful causes, we aim to channel the energy of music towards bridging gaps and create positive change.

Vision

At Charity Chords, we envision a vibrant future where musicians are not only celebrated for their artistic contributions but are also empowered through uplifting performance opportunities and a dynamic community. Simultaneously, we see a future where Charity Chords plays a pivotal role in supporting local communities by orchestrating impactful donation-drive and fundraising events for meaningful causes. Through the transformative nature of musical gatherings, we aim to create a symphony of goodwill, where every note resonates with purpose, benefitting both musicians and the communities we serve.

Meet the Founder

Britney Lamb

Growing up with a guitar in hand, Britney's journey with music has been a lifelong love affair. Witnessing the transformative power of music in her own life, she realized the profound impact music can also have on her community. While attending Western University, Britney continued her passion for music, first performing music for patients at London Health Science Centre, and later ratifying a musical club through the University Student Council. Through this club, she helped foster a vibrant musical community on campus where students of all musical backgrounds and skill levels can come together and develop their artistic talents. After the club's success and realizing the potential to expand into greater community, Britney founded Charity Chords with the firm belief that every note played has the potential to make a difference

Britney has been recognized for her outstanding leadership with prestigious awards such as the Women in Leadership and Accessibility in Leadership awards by the Western University Student Union. Her innovative approach to non-profit leadership garnered Charity Chords the first-place position in the non-profit category at the Seed Your Startup pitch competition hosted by Ivey Business School's Morrissette Institute for Entrepreneurship. She won London Health Science Centre's Student Auxiliary Scholarship in 2022 after contributing to their musical therapy program. Her musical journey, coupled with an acute understanding of the profound purpose music serves in the greater community, has become the driving force behind Charity Chords.
